Oklahoma State gives Mike Boynton 7-year extension

Oklahoma State has agreed to a seven-year extension with head coach Mike Boynton, CBS Sports reported Monday.

The new deal will pay the fourth-year coach $3 million per year, according to the report.

Boynton led the Cowboys to a 21-9 record, a berth in the Big 12 tournament title game and a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Cowboys advanced to the second round, where they lost to Pac-12 upstart Oregon State, 80-70.

It was Boynton’s best season so far in Stillwater, Okla., where he has a 72-58 mark.
