Ohio State’s Chase Young to remain suspended this week

Potential No. 1 overall pick Chase Young will not be on the field for his Ohio State Buckeyes as they take on Rutgers this weekend.

Ohio State announced on Wednesday that the pass rusher will remain suspended for this weekend after an investigation showed that he took a loan out from a family friend to help his girlfriend attend the Rose Bowl this past January.

While Young did pay back the loan, the NCAA initially deemed it was a violation and the star pass rusher could be suspended as much as four games.

It’s been a major point of contention over the past couple weeks. Remember, Young had to miss last week’s blowout win over Maryland.

On the field, this won’t matter much come Saturday. Ohio State is overwhelming favorites to dispose of Rutgers.

Getting Young back for the Penn State game is a bigger deal.

Seen as one of the best edge rush prospects in recent history, Young has recorded 15.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks in eight games this season.
