Odell Beckham Jr. Called on to Replace Calvin Johnson in Pro Bowl

Many were surprised when the names for the Pro Bowl were recently announced and New York Giants’ rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. wasn’t one of them. However, reports are out that wide receiver Calvin Johnson won’t play in the All-Star game and Beckham will replace him (via NFL.com).

It is definitely awesome,” Beckham said Wednesday. It is something that means a lot to me, and I am definitely going to cherish the moment. I’m very excited to be going to the Pro Bowl.

While Megatron nurses an injury which is preventing him from playing in the upcoming Pro Bowl, fans of the mega-talented Beckham Jr. can excitedly wait to see him back in action in just a few weeks. Beckham will mark the first New York Giants rookie to suit up in the annual postseason game since Jeremy Shockey played back in 2002.

This year’s Pro Bowl takes place on January 25 in Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium. The two teams will be selected fantasy football draft style between January 20-21 by Cris Carter and Michael Irvin. We can bet that Beckham is going to be a top pick.
