Nick Saban thinks FSU will be preseason No. 1 over Alabama

The 2017 college football season will start with a bang when Florida State and Alabama in the Chick-fil-A kickoff game. It will likely be a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup. Which begs the question, who will be No. 1.

According to Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban, the Seminoles will likely enter the game as the top seed.

“We’ve always tried to play in one of the games early in the season,” Saban said via Bamaonline.com. “I think it’s good for our team, it’s good for their development. Florida State has a great team and a great program and will probably be No. 1 in the country. So, it’s exciting for our players throughout the offseason, the spring and the summer to get ready for a game like that.”

The ranking doesn’t mean much, especially if they are the top two seeds. The winner of that game will certainly leave Week 1 as the top seed in the country.
