For the fifth time in franchise history, the St. Louis Blues are giving their iconic note a makeover. After nearly three decades with the 1998 design, the Blue Note has officially been remixed, remastered, and reborn for a new era of Blues jerseys.

Unveiled Tuesday, the updated note “reclaims the raw energy of the franchise’s earliest days, its bold curves now sharpened for a new era.” In other words, the note got cranked up a notch.

The Blues are rolling out modernized home and away uniforms inspired by the fan-favorite heritage jerseys from their appearances in the Winter Classic, most notably the 2017 and 2022 editions. The new set brings back a familiar look with some fresh updates: sharper colors, cleaner lines, and some more flavor. The road jersey trades in the creme base for a classic white look. Even the pant legs got some love, now featuring a “STL” logo.

The return to the team’s original 1967 color palette, the vibrant blue and yellow, honor the franchise’s roots. While royal blue has been the primary color since 1984, fans have made it clear that the heritage blue hold a special place in their hearts.

The redesign of the Blue Note simplifies the logo from three colors to two, talking out the beige while strengthening the blue and yellow to create a bolder, more modern look. The Note’s shape remains mostly the same, but has been subtly reshaped for a sharper, sleeker look that pops out on the ice and for digital media.

Beyond the main logo and uniforms, the Blues are introducing an entire set of new brand marks that heavily lean into the team’s identity and the city’s culture.

Now, the Blues just need to turn their winning new look into, well, winning. Since capturing the first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history back in 2019, the Blues have won one playoff series and missed the postseason twice altogether. This past season, the Blues were red hot heading into the playoffs, but were eliminated in seven games in the first round by the Winnipeg Jets.

Fleur, STL Mark and River Music

The Blues put a fresh spin on the Fleur-de-lis, paying tribute to the city’s French heritage. This new version bends the classic symbol with a treble clef to keep the musical theme front and center. There’s also a fresh “STL” mark inspired by the treble clef, tying together the city’s name and the team’s signature design into one logo. The trumpet designed shaped like the Gateway Arch and the waves of the Mississippi River pay homage to both the cities most notable landmark and its deep routes music taste.

Color Scheme & Wordmarks

Back to the blues (and yellows). The color scheme sticks to the original shades of blue and yellow first worn by the team in 1967. The primary word mark follows the industry trend of simplicity, while the illustrative version gives some flair to the design, inspired by early 1900s sheet music.
