East Meadow, NY– The NHL season is always a grind that provides few if any, easy nights.

It’s the way the league is, for the most part. There are so many close games. Even when teams get big leads, teams are coming back on them and it ends up being a tight game. It makes us more comfortable in a situation where things are tight. Moving forward and heading down the stretch, when you’re battling and kicking and scraping for playoff position, I think it’ll definitely benefit us.

We’re right in the thick of things. It’s where you want to be. Last year, we were kind of chasing all year. It’s going to be a battle to the end. Everything’s so tight.
We feel like we can win in different styles, whether we win in a tight, close one or two-goal game, or we can also score four or five to get the job done. Each game brings a different challenge, but we’re comfortable and have a lot of confidence in all those situations.

We learned from experience last year, going down the stretch, where every point mattered. We’ve been able to bank some points that maybe we didn’t deserve, and then there’s been some that we’ve left on the table that we thought we deserved a better fate. When teams are pushing for a playoff spot, you feel comfortable going out there and finding a way to get it done.
Your team is looking for 60 minutes. It gives you the ability to just stay sharp and practice those situations. There’s a certain energy and spark you get when those games mean so much that you kind of just find a way.
