ELMONT, NY–

That was nice. It’s no fun to sit out at all. You want to be out there and help your team…It was a massive win, especially on a back-to-back as well. We really needed those two points.

It was an important game for us, and we all knew it was important to have a good third period. I’m not going to say it was a great win, but I’m also going to it was a great game. Everybody played really well, and that’s the type of hockey we need to play if we are going to give ourselves a chance to make the playoffs.

That was an important goal, there’s no doubt about it. What I love about Bo’s game tonight is he played well for 200 feet. It’s not just the goal that he scored. It’s the ones that he took away from the other team.

I thought he played a good game. The thing I was extremely proud of is I thought he had a good presence in front of the net and that’s what you want to see. I hope this game will bring a lot of confidence to him. It was his first win in a while, so it’s nice for him to have a win

After a sluggish first 40 minutes of action, the Islanders were booed off the ice at the end of the second period. But not even two minutes into the third did those boos turn into raucous cheers.

With Chicago forward Phillip Kurashev serving a penalty for holding, Bo Horvat stood alone at the right faceoff circle and punched a shot past Blackhawks goalie Petr Mrazek on the power play to tie the score.

It didn’t take long for those

Chicago snatched the opening goal at 7:49 of the first period. Stealing the puck off the stick of Noah Dobson, Phillip Kurshev’s stretch pass to Connor Bedard through the neutral zone sprung the Blackhawks on the rush. With only Adam Pelech between him and Ilya Sorokin, Bedard threw a pass across the ice to Jason Dickinson who buried the puck for his 21st goal of the season.
