Elmont, NY–

Leon Draisaitl didn’t let the fans settle in, nor Ilya Sorokin, for that matter.

Off a pass from Warren Foegle at center ice, Draisaitl raced into the attacking and ripped the game’s first shot on goal underneath Sorokin’s glove, putting Edmonton on the board at 1:23 of the first period.

It wasn’t until past the midway point of the period the Islanders put some pressure on Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner, who finally played the way the Oilers had been begging for all season.
