“This is that lineup,” Roy said. “This is depth. We have so much depth. We have four very good centermen, four good lines, three good defense pairs, six good defensemen and good goaltending. That’s depth.”

Pulock has stepped in and played two great games for us. Obviously, with Pelech back and Casey back too, now we finally have a really solid d-corps back there and four solid lines. Everybody was pitching in, and we got to have that going forward.

As we get more comfortable, it becomes more natural. I think it’s a lot more instincts right now, and guys aren’t thinking as much and just playing the right way. I think every line is playing hard, playing hard defensively and ending things. When you play 30 seconds in your zone to start a shift, sometimes you don’t have much legs going the other way. We’ve been able to get out of our zone quickly and that gives us a chance to play good offense.

I think having Pulock out there for 20 minutes a night right now has been so key for us. I think a lot of the struggles that we’ve had this year have come from not being able to make a ton of plays back there. He has a really calm presence on the ice. He knows how to control the play and make a good first pass, so he’s been key in our success the last few games.

It’s contagious. When Matty and Cal go on the ice with him, it brings a lot of energy. They know him. That line plays such a beautiful 200-foot game, and it’s very easy to trust those guys. He’s almost like the motor of that line. He skates and finishes what he starts. I think he’ll go through a wall for this team.
