That’s the good news you certainly want to wake up to on a Wednesday morning, after the New Jersey Devils were off the ice for two days.

Now, don’t get too excited, Brett Pesce remains absent.

However, multiple key Devils forwards returned to practice on Wednesday when the Devils took the ice at RWJBarnabas Health practice facility.

Connor Brown returned to his usual spot in the lineup on the third line. He skated alongside Dawson Mercer and Timo Meier.

In non-contact jersey’s Cody Glass was back on the ice, as was Zack MacEwen.

It appears as though the Devils are getting healthier.

The Devils have two games to finish out the rest of this week. Tomorrow, they’ll face the Montreal Canadiens, who are surging up the standings and sitting second overall in the NHL. On Saturday afternoon, the Devils face the Pittsburgh Penguins, who have surprised many this season, and sit behind New Jersey in the Metropolitan Division.

Brown’s return to the lineup is a big boost. He provides the speed in depth in all zones that helps the Devils’ defense that can be so effective. On the road trip, his loss, as well as Pesce’s, stood out as the Devils struggled to keep the puck out of their net.

Glass is also a welcomed return, although he appears a bit further away in no-contact gear. Regardless, he’s inching closer, which will certainly positively impact the Devils’ lineup on defense when he eventually returns.

The only other notable change to the Devils’ lineup is Juho Lammikko sliding down to the fourth line at center, moving Luke Glendening to the right-wing.
