The Dougie Hamilton news is certainly looming large. It’s one of those names that can’t just be ignored when it’s thrown out there. If the New Jersey Devils are seriously going to consider moving him, it won’t be for a cap dump. It will be to make an improvement, perhaps at forward. Perhaps, there’s a blockbuster inbound. Perhaps not, we’ll see if anything unfolds, but it does indicate that Tom Fitzgerald very well is still working the phones.

San Jose Hockey Now: After the Mike Grier claimed Nick Leddy and signed both Dmitry Orlov and John Klingberg in free agency, the San Jose Sharks blueline is looking pretty occupied. According to multiple reports, the Sharks are going to trade a defenseman.
NYI Hockey Now: After the work Mathieu Darche put in this summer, are the New York Islanders being overlooked as an improved NHL club? Their prospect pool has certainly received a face lift, however, the work done at the varsity level perhaps isn’t spoke about enough.
Vegas Hockey Now: Jack Eichel soon needs a new contract. Does the acquisition of Mitch Marner complicate things? Eichel is the Vegas Golden Knights best player. But, Marner makes $12 million a year.
