Good morning. It’s game day in New Jersey. That felt awfully good to say. The New Jersey Devils haven’t played since Saturday after they traveled home from Prague on Sunday and had an off day on Monday. After a 2-0-0 start to the season, Jack Hughes and Co. aim to collect another two big points over the Toronto Maple Leafs — Sheldon Keefe’s former team.

In the links, the Devils’ top-five prospects have raised their stock thus far.

Elsewhere, Pittsburgh’s fate could lye with an ex-Devils player, Sens extend Ullmark, and an update on JJ Peterka.

Let’s do that hockey.

NHL.com: Perhaps we should have seen this coming. Shortly after his buddy, Jeremy Swayman, inked a new long-term extension with the Boston Bruins, Linus Ullmark signed an extension with the Ottawa Senators for the exact same AAV, but half the term.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Pittsburgh Penguins did not start off the 2024-25 season very well at all. The fate of their season could rest on a handful of players, including an ex-Devils defenseman who just hasn’t panned out in Steel City.

Colorado Hockey Now: Calum Ritchie would’ve never envisioned the past 16 months playing out the way they have. After falling in the first round of the 2023 draft to the Colorado Avalanche at No. 27, and then starting the 2023-24 OHL season injured, Ritchie suddenly finds himself ready to make his NHL debut just a year later.

Buffalo Hockey Now: No one likes to see another player get hurt. Although Devils defenseman Brenden Dillon demolished JJ Peterka who ended up concussed, the Buffalo Sabres prospect may be on the brink of returning soon.

Philly Hockey Now: Do the Philadelphia Flyers have the world’s best goaltending prospect?
