Tom Brady

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have his appeal hearing on June 23 to determine whether the NFL will reduce or overturn the four-game suspension he received for allegedly having knowledge of using footballs with which locker room personnel had tampered.

It is reported that the NFL Players Association sent a letter on Brady’s behalf criticizing the Wells Report that set the foundation for Brady’s suspension.

According to ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio, the letter claims the Wells Report is “dubious, contradictory and mischaracterized circumstantial evidence” and doesn’t prove Brady participated in what is referred to as “Deflategate.”

The NFLPA said even if the Wells Report had actually proved that Brady was personally involved in tampering with the footballs, the four-game suspension is still excessive.

Paolantonio also reports Brady would not be satisfied with a reduced suspension and that he expects to be fully exonerated, because the quarterback feels he hasn’t done anything wrong.

Brady’s status for the early portion of the season will be determined following next Tuesday’s appeal.
