Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson had a heck of a time gaining any substantial ground nearly all-game long in the Seahawks’ NFC Championship game victory against the Green Bay Packers.
Challenged by the Green Bay Packers’ defense early, Wilson looked like a combination of Jay Cutler and Mark Sanchez for the first three quarters of the game.
Throwing four interceptions in Sunday’s win, Wilson really had fans worrying about the fate of the Seahawks until late into the game.
Two of Wilson’s picks were caught by Packers’ rookie Ha Ha Clinton-Dix early in the first quarter. And, coincidentally all four interceptions thrown by Wilson were on targets to wide receiver Jermaine Kearse.

Not able to avoid getting sacked, Wilson endured four giant body-jarring hits today, two of which came from Packers’ linebacker Clay Matthews.

It’s been since Wilson’s rookie year in 2012 that he has thrown for three or more interceptions in one game. Thankfully, with only less than a quarter to go in the game, Wilson began to scratch through the surface of the Packers’ daunting defense and gain some traction. In a nail-biting overtime conclusion to the NFC Championship game, Wilson rose to the top throwing the game-clinching touchdown in a 28-22 win.
Despite Wilson’s less-than-stellar performance, he managed to get the job done which is all that matters at the end of the day for the young quarterback.
