Winning at home is becoming second nature for Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. They finished strong in the second half of a 31-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night. Wilson, who has now participated in playoffs in each of his three NFL seasons, was obviously happy about the outcome (via NFL.com).

Sometimes I think I’m made for these situations.

Wilson showed that he works extremely well under pressure. He completed the night 8-8 on third downs. which resulted in 200 yards and three touchdowns. Overall, Wilson only threw the ball 22 times. However, he averaged 12.2 yards on each attempt. His 149.2 quarterback rating was also the fifth-highest in the history of the NFL Playoffs.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had this to say about Wilson’s performance.

I was really fired up for Russell tonight. He had a great night on third down. … He must have hit almost everything. Dude, I think he had three third-down touchdown passes, which is unheard of. How does that ever happen? He did a great job.

Wilson definitely has the knack of finding that open receiver at just the right time and dominates when it comes to late downs. Next up for Wilson is a NFC championship meeting with either the Green Bay Packers or Dallas Cowboys where he’ll look to lead Seattle to a second straight Super Bowl.
