Rob Gronkowski

Known as a party boy with a care-free attitude and no real understanding of the nuances that comes with being a multi-millionaire, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is out here to change that perception.

Considered a meat-head by some, Gronkowski is actually a very smart businessman with a keen knowledge of his brand and a willingness to be frugal. That’s just all sorts of weird, right?

In speaking with Maverick Carter on a recent Kneading Dough broadcast, Gronkowski talked about how he has not spent a penny of the cash he’s earned from the Patriots throughout an eight-year career.

“If you see my NFL money, how much I’ve made — I got way more than that, baby,” Gronkowski said.

Through endorsements with companies such as Tide and Dunkin’ Donuts, Gronkowski has been able to live off that cash throughout his career. It’s enabled the All-Pro tight end and future Hall of Famer to stash away and invest the $53-plus million he’s earned from New England since entering the league.

The moral of the story? Don’t take what you see on the surface as being the end all. Gronkowski might show himself to have that party-boy mentality. But behind the scenes, he knows exactly what he’s doing.
