New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski wants a new contract and did hold out of the team’s voluntary offseason practices. This, of course, created quite the buzz and even sparked talks of a potential trade.
But fans that were worried about Gronk possibly holding out on training camp can rest easy. Gronkowski never had any intention of skipping training camp.
#Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski, who took the field today without a reworked contract, was asked if he considered holding out: “No. Haven’t come close to considering that. No even one bit. What I can do is keep preparing, keep showing up every day. Keep doing what I got to do.”

Instead, Gronkowski arrived to training camp, fresh and ready to give it his all. This year marks Gronk’s ninth season in the league after turning 29 this past May. Though it was not long ago that Gronk would not commit to playing in 2018 after pondering over possibly retiring.
The All-Pro tight end has played in 102 games throughout his career, tallying 7,179 yards and 76 touchdowns. He has also endured various injuries along the way.
For now, Patriots fans can soak in at least one more season of Gronkowski and everything he brings to game day — spiked footballs and all — caught from one of the greatest quarterbacks in all history.
