When healthy, Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls is an asset. Unfortunately for the second-year back, the staying healthy part has been tricky.
Rawls will reportedly sit out a few weeks with a leg injury Pete Carroll calls a “fibula issue,” per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
This puts the onus on Christine Michael to continue his strong play in the weeks to come. He had himself a huge game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
And with Russell Wilson banged up (sprained MCL), Michael might be leaned on all the more in Week 4 when the Seahawks travel across the country to face the New York Jets — a team that can get after the quarterback.
Before this latest injury to Rawls, he hadn’t been effective running the ball, rushing for just 25 yards on 19 carries.
