Marshawn Lynch

The Seattle Seahawks might be without star running back Marshawn Lynch when they take the field for a Monday Night Football showdown with the Detroit Lions.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Lynch—who is dealing with a hamstring injury—is “50-50” to play.

Lynch only managed five carries and one catch last week against the Chicago Bears, finishing with 23 total yards. He still hasn’t scored a touchdown during the 2015 season.

Stephen Cohen of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer noted Lynch has undergone an MRI in each of the last two weeks.

If Lynch is unable to play Monday night, rookie Thomas Rawls and veteran Fred Jackson will step into the lineup. Rawls should be the featured runner, especially after a 104-yard performance on Sunday. Jackson, on the other hand, would contribute as the third-down back.

Lynch’s presence is always valuable, but the Seahawks shouldn’t rush him back. Seattle tends to perform worse on the road, and the team will travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals after hosting Detroit.
