Conflicting reports emerged Sunday about the status of Jimmy Graham and his future in Seattle. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks are dangling the former Pro Bowl tight end as trade bait in an attempt to find an upgrade at left tackle.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora noted that said report was erroneous (more on that here).

Now, following Seattle’s thrilling late-game win over Houston, head coach Pete Carroll is flatly denying that any conversations have taken place surrounding Graham.

Given that Graham scored the game-winning touchdown against the Texans on Sunday, this is most definitely interesting timing. There’s been a train of thought recently concluding that Graham isn’t a fit in Seattle and would eventually look for an offense that better fits his skill set.

But after struggling in his first season with the Seahawks back in 2015, Graham has picked it up a great deal. He earned a Pro Bowl spot last season and has recorded nearly 1,200 receiving yards in his past 23 games. Graham was also a standout blocker in front of Russell Wilson on Sunday.

The 30-year-old Graham is set to become a free agent this offseason. That’s likely what led to speculation in the first place. But now, it doesn’t look like he’ll be moved prior to Tuesday’s league-wide trade deadline.
