KDKA in Pittsburgh is taking action over the now infamous graphic that called New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady a “known cheater” during a recent broadcast.

The local CBS affiliate has fired the employee responsible for the unprofessional graphic.

“While fans are entitled to have personal opinions, we have a journalistic responsibility to provide unbiased reporting,” KDKA said in a statement. “The graphic that appeared Monday violated our news standards. The individual who created the graphic no longer works for KDKA-TV.”

It’s one thing to give your opinion on social media or in private. It’s a completely different thing to take said opinion and make it part of a news broadcast.

The former KDKA employee had to know he/she would face consequences after Monday’s new broadcast went viral. That came to fruition on Wednesday.
