New report reveals odds makers don’t care about New York Giants signing future Hall of Famer Russell Wilson

The New York Giants signing 10-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson was one of the more notable moves of this offseason. But it seems Las Vegas oddsmakers are unimpressed with the move.

The New York Giants have had a busy month thus far this offseason. They re-signed veteran receiver Darius Slayton. Made a couple of big additions to the secondary in Jevon Holland and Paulson Adebo. And Big Blue finalized several other signings to try and bolster their roster for next season.

However, addressing the quarterback spot was their top priority this month. For weeks after the season, the assumption was they would take a top QB prospect in April’s NFL Draft. However, rumors swirled at the start of March that the organization wanted a veteran signal caller. And Aaron Rodgers became a top priority after failing to trade for Los Angeles Rams star Matthew Stafford.

Over the last week, the Giants made a pair of signings for former starting quarterbacks. But neither was Rodgers. Instead, they added failed former first-round pick Jameis Winston and Seattle Seahawks legend Russell Wilson to their QB room in 2025. But it seems Vegas oddsmakers don’t think much about either move.

New York Giants projected 2025 win total unchange after Russell Wilson signing

Expectations for the New York Giants are low heading into the 2025 season. That is what comes with being tired for the worst-record last season at 3-14. However, it would seem that adding a future Hall of Famer like Russell Wilson should mean quite a few more wins next season. Well, not in the eyes of ESPN Bet.

“The Giants’ win total opened at a league-low 3.5 wins over at ESPNBET. It remains at 3.5 wins after the acquisition of Russell Wilson,” ESPN Giants insider Jordan Raanan revealed on X Tuesday.

During his 13 years in the NFL, Wilson has only had a losing record as a starter three times. Unfortunately, they all came in the last four seasons. And despite a strong start with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, he and the offense tailspinned over the final four games. He is in an obvious physical decline at 36.

Better QB play and competing for a playoff spot will help head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Shoen keep their jobs. However, ESPN Bet doesn’t seem to think Wilson will save them from being fired this year.
