Not everyone wants to see New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady on the field for the first four games of the 2016 NFL season.
Now heading into its 500th day, the entire Deflategate scandal that rocked the football world has taken on somewhat of an American horror story narrative. When will it end? Can we just move on from this?
Well, at least organization along the east coast really doesn’t want the story to end.
A Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Buffalo Bisons have announced that they are holding a “keep Brady suspended” night for a doubleheader against the Charlotte Knights later this month.
“The Bisons are offering buy-one, get-one free tickets to anyone who brings a properly inflated football, which will then be donated to area youth football programs,” a report from a local NBC affiliate in New York read. “In addition, the Bisons are offering a 12.5% discount in the gift shop for anyone who brings a Tom Brady jersey or t-shirt too add to the postgame fireworks, and during the game the scoreboard will feature videos of some of sports “greatest cheaters.”
That’s just tremendous.
We already know the local Buffalo area has a piqued interest in the outcome of Brady’s appeal. Should he fail to win over the courts, the future Hall of Fame quarterback will miss the first quarter of the season.
That would go a long way in helping New England’s AFC East rivals, the Buffalo Bills included, take down the division’s most-dominating team.
We particularly like the aspect of this event that will donate footballs to local children. Some could argue that what the Bisons are doing is ridiculous, but to make it act as some good for the community is pretty awesome.
