Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is trying his hand in football analysis these days. The two-time NBA champion threw his support behind Johnny Manziel as the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback on Monday.
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, especially considering James and Manziel can be considered friends and such.
Cleveland’s head coach Mike Pettine decided to bench starter Brian Hoyer for the rookie signal caller on Sunday with his team down by three scores in the fourth quarter. Manziel then scored the Browns only touchdown on a 10-yard run in his first possession of the afternoon.
For his part, Pettine didn’t sound too committed to Hoyer as the starter moving forward, leaving open the real possibility that Manziel could get the nod against the Indianapolis Colts this upcoming weekend.
Both James and Manziel joined Cleveland sports royalty this past year. For James, it was all about a return to the city he bailed on. And for Manziel, he gave the fan base something to cheer about. Together, they are the two greatest hopes of bringing a title back to Cleveland.
