Before you update your OkCupid profile, hold your Broncos. John Elway makes a valid point when he compares free agency to dating:
“I view free agency like dating, if you didn’t want me to scoop them up then you have treated them better,” says the Hall of Famer.
But does it work?
Seems to be that way. Let’s remember the Denver Broncos have Peyton Manning who makes fans fall in love every moment he steps into the pocket. A romance between him and Wes Welker made fantasy owners go weak in the knees last season in that first week of NFL play.
They recently opened up their relationship to safety T.J. Ward and cornerback Aqib Talib, who more than complement the team.
Even though Eric Decker has moved on to the New York Jets, bringing on DeMarcus Ware more than likely steamed up the relationship. Especially monetarily. They signed the former Dallas Cowboy to a three-year, $30 million deal.
If this team doesn’t turn you on, I really don’t know what else will.
And don’t forget, Elway still remains the gentleman, because he always foots the bill.
