In the world of funny police blurbs, this one might actually take the cake. Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Dwayne Gratz, who is in his third season with the team, was arrested in Miami early Sunday morning and charged with two misdemeanors, disorderly intoxication and trespassing (via The Florida Times-Union).
The intoxication part of the story now makes some sense.
Per police report, Gratz was arrested at 5:53 a.m. on Sunday, said he was in a store and tried to pay for items with bubble gum.

I mean, gum is a valuable resource here on Earth. Not sure why the authorities saw a problem with that.
Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley had this to say about the incident on Monday afternoon.
He had an unfortunate situation over the weekend so I expect to see him later this afternoon. I’ll meet with him and we’ll handle it internally. It’s not good what took place, but it is a matter we have to investigate even more when he gets back here. I want to talk to him and we’ll handle some things with him.
Sadly, this was apparently Gratz’s first trip to Miami. Maybe he should have gone with someone who has experience in dealing with that nightlife scene.
Headed to Miami for the first time. Can't believe I been in Florida for two years and still haven't been there already.

And no, I am not talking about Justin Blackmon.
