Duane Brown was traded from the Houston Texans to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday in exchange for Jeremy Lane and a couple of draft picks. It was a blockbuster move that will help both squads in different ways.

Though, we must never simply look at these trades through the lens of shuffling a Madden roster. These are real people who have deep feelings, and their entire lives are going to change in a big way as they move to a new city.

Reflecting on his nine years in Houston, Brown issued a thank you to the organization that drafted him in the first round back in 2008.

A post shared by Duane Brown (@duanebrown76) on

“Thank you to the Houston Texans organization for the opportunity to live out my dream the last 9 years. Thank you to the city of Houston and Texans Nation for the love and support you’ve shown me and my family. You will always hold a special place in my heart. Much Love!!!”

Earlier in the day after the trade, Lane also issued a short thank you to Seattle on Twitter.

Lane had been demoted and might have a chance to make a bigger impact in Houston.

Meanwhile, we can expect Brown to be an immediate upgrade protecting Russell Wilson’s blind side as Seattle’s starting left tackle.
