The Detroit Lions announced on Sunday morning that star receiver Calvin Johnson and starting running back Reggie Bush are both going to be inactive for the team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Johnson has been slowed down over the past few weeks with a high-ankle sprain. Confirmation that he’s inactive shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. The Lions hinted they were going in that direction all week.

Bush, who suffered an ankle injury in the second half of the Lions loss to the Buffalo Bills last week, will also miss the game. He’s set to be replaced by Joique Bell in the lineup.

These are huge blows to a team that desperately needs to rebound from struggles over the past three weeks against a solid division opponent in the Minnesota Vikings.
