Aaron Rodgers is heading into his 21st NFL season and is finally a free agent for the first time in his legendary career. There’s no guarantee the 41-year-old wants to play another season.

Yet, there’s a strong sense that the four-time NFL MVP wants to prove the skeptics wrong after two wasted seasons with the New York Jets. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of two 2024 playoff teams without a starting quarterback for 2025. The Minnesota Vikings are the other team, and it’s no coincidence that they’re also interested in the former Green Bay Packers starter.

Still unsigned, is Rodgers interested in joining the Steelers or Vikings? His latest action suggests a deal with Pittsburgh could be imminent.

As the NFL world waits for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision, it’s possible he’s already made up his mind.

He’s already taken a six-hour visit with various members of the Pittsburgh Steelers. That hasn’t led to a contract agreement yet.

However, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Rodgers and new Steelers Pro Bowl receiver DK Metcalf got together for a throwing session at the UCLA campus this past weekend.

Was Rodgers simply vetting Metcalf as a receiver? Trying to see how crisp his routes are? Seeing how reliable his hands can be? Was he simply trying to get to know one of his potential top pass-catchers?

We may have our answer soon. Besides, wouldn’t it be weird if Rodgers worked out with Metcalf, only to later retire or sign with another team? What kind of message would that send to Steelers fans?
