The “Inconvenient Truth” is returning for yet another go at it. The New York Jets reportedly signed 36-year-old running back Frank Gore on Tuesday. The future Hall of Famer will now return for his 16th season in the NFL.

It really is something to behold. Running backs tend to have about six or seven good seasons in them. A third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers back in 2005, Gore put up 1,200-plus total yards every season from 2006-2017. That’s a dozen years for those of us who are not great at math.

Ranked third on the all-time list in rushing yards behind Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton, Gore’s career has been among the most-astonishing in modern sports history.

Needless to say, the running back returning for a 16th season in the league had the NFL world buzzing.
