NFL world has jokes after Eagles help Cowboys land top player

To say that the Philadelphia Eagles have had themselves an unconventional draft would be an understatement.

Philadelphia seemingly reached for a wide receiver in the first round before selecting quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second round. That latter selection is interesting in that the Eagles just signed fellow signal caller Carson Wentz to a long-term extension.

It goes without saying that fans in Philadelphia are a bit confused by the Eagles’ draft. That did not change during Day 3 of the annual event.

These Eagles traded down from the 146th overall pick with the division-rival Dallas Cowboys, enabling Jerry Jones and Co. to land one of the top centers in the draft.

This is not a drill. Philadelphia picked up fifth-round pick later on Saturday and a selection in the same round next year. In the process, it enabled the Cowboys to land one of the top centers in the draft, Tyler Biadasz, to replace the recently-retired Travis Frederick.

Needless to say, the NFL world had even more questions after the Eagles made their first trade with Dallas since 2007.
