NFL suspends Vikings RB Roc Thomas three games

Minnesota Vikings running back and special teams standout Roc Thomas was arrested back in January for possession of marijuana.

It represented a felony charge because Thomas had 143 games on him at the time of the arrest. That’s intent to sell.

Months after his arrest, Thomas has been suspended three games by the NFL for violating its substance abuse policy.

This is different than other suspensions under the umbrella of the NFL’s archaic marijuana policy. Sure the substance is legal in multiple states. But carrying that amount is not legal. Thomas broke the law.

Thomas, 23, appeared in five games as a rookie last season. There’s no telling whether this suspension will impact his future with the Vikings.
