NFL reveals 47% of fans are women, launches women’s history month celebration

At a time when the NFL is leading the way in popularity in revenue among all US sports, the league is also celebrating another milestone that is helping the game’s popularity grow even more.

Coming off its 100th season, the NFL is honoring the contributions from women during Women’s History Month and it announced that women now make up 47% of its fan base.

As part of its efforts to celebrate the countless contributions of women in the NFL, the league announced its “Strong Side” platform on Instagram and Twitter to highlight its female audience.

The NFL also revealed it is set to release an NFL360 special on March 8 at 9 p.m. EST, on Intt=ernational Women’s Day, which will highlight the groundbreaking effort by women to impact football. The league also recently wrapped up its annual Women’s Careers in Football Summit at the NFL Scouting Combine.

At a time when the Washington Redskins just hired the NFL’s first full-time African American female coach, the league continues to find ways to grow its audience and connect to women with great steps.
