The Eagles and Chiefs clash on Sunday will be a matchup of the two teams that were far and away the cream of the crop in their respective conferences all season. Who will win Super Bowl MVP? Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts headline MVP candidates
Super Bowl MVP 2023
https://sportsnaut.com/who-will-win-super-bowl-mvp-2023/
The Super Bowl MVP usually goes to an offensive player and often the winning team’s quarterback. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp took home the honor last year, but it was a close race with teammate Aaron Donald. While an offensive player has taken the honor home in the last six years, Von Miller in 2016 is just the latest instance of a defensive player winning MVP in the Super Bowl. The predictions for this year’s MVP award starts with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.

Timing is everything. Nick Sirianni’s first season as Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receivers coach in 2012 coincided with the Chiefs finishing with their worst record. That ushered in the Andy Reid era. Reid cleaned house, which included the then 31-year-old Sirianni. He has not forgotten.

You’re all caught up. But before we go, Kyrie Irving’s replacement with the Brooklyn Nets, Cam Thomas, is on quite a tear. In Tuesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns, Thomas became the youngest player (21 years, 117 days) in NBA history with three straight 40-point games. StatMuse points out that if Thomas keeps scoring 40 in every game, he will pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s 2nd all-time scorer in 11 seasons from today.

See you tomorrow.

(Trivia answer: The Kansas City Chiefs traded for Joe Montana and Marcus Allen in 1993. They would go on to post a record of 11-5 that year, just missing the Super Bowl when they lost to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game. SOURCE: usefultrivia.com)
