The New York Yankees reinstated third baseman Gio Urshela from the COVID-19 injured list before Sunday’s game against the Red Sox in Boston.

The Yankees also placed first baseman Chris Gittens (right ankle sprain) on the 10-day injured list and transferred outfielder Tim Locastro (torn right ACL) to the 60-day IL.

Urshela, 29, has been out since July 11 but told reporters Saturday he only experienced mild symptoms during his second bout with COVID-19.

“Way different,” said Urshela, who also battled the coronavirus last winter. “The first time I got it I felt worse for the first few days. This one was like a regular cold. One day, I feel like I had no energy.”

Urshela is batting .275 with 11 homers, 14 doubles and 38 RBIs in 78 games this season.

Gittens, 27, made his MLB debut on June 5 and is hitting .111 (4-for-36) with one homer and five RBIs.

Locastro, 29, sustained his season-ending knee injury after making a leaping catch in left field in a July 17 victory against the Red Sox. Acquired in a July 1 trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks, he batted .190 with a homer and two RBIs in nine games with New York.
