New York Knicks restructure Taj Gibson’s deal for two years

Forward Taj Gibson will sign a two-year deal to return to the New York Knicks after the team restructured his contract, ESPN reported Tuesday.

The deal is worth $10.1 million, per the report. The original deal was for one year.

Gibson, 36, averaged 5.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 20.8 minutes per game in 45 contests (three starts) for the Knicks in 2020-21.

For his career, Gibson has averaged 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds with the Chicago Bulls (2009-17), Oklahoma City Thunder (2017), Minnesota Timberwolves (2017-10) and Knicks. The Bulls selected him No. 26 overall in the 2009 draft.
