New Brooklyn Nets star guard Kyrie Irving will miss his 10th consecutive game Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks with a shoulder injury.

Up to this point, Irving has pretty much been day-to-day since last suiting up on Nov. 14.

That might no longer be the case. According to this report from Brian Lewis of the NY Post, the most optimistic timeline for a return to action is 1-2 weeks.

The report also notes that there could be something more to the injury that’s not yet known by the public.

Irving, 27, has played in only 11 games for the Nets after signing a four-year, $136.5 million deal back in July.

He’s averaging 28.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists for a Nets team that’s struggled to a 10-10 record on the season. There’s also been reports of drama between Irving and his Nets behind the scenes.
