The Phoenix Suns are on the verge of agreeing to a contract buyout with Bradley Beal, which will wipe away the rest of his two-year, $110 million deal. Of course, the Suns had been trying to find a trade partner for the three-time All-Star, but his no-trade clause, plus his expensive contract, made that difficult.
Yet, now that the Suns are apparently ready to just cut bait with Beal, there is a whole list of teams lining up for the 32-year-old’s services.
According to Forbes’ Evan Sidery, “at least five teams” are expected to show interest in Beal once he becomes a free agent. Those teams are as follows:
- Milwaukee Bucks
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Miami Heat
- Los Angeles Lakers
- Denver Nuggets
While teams weren’t willing to take on Beal’s existing contract, the next one he signs is expected to come at a drastically reduced rate. Perhaps that’s why so many teams are suddenly so eager to add him to their team this summer.
Beal is no longer in line to receive a featured role in a team’s offense. However, he can still score with ease. Though, even that part of his game has trailed off, going from 23.2 PPG in 2022-23 down to 18.2 in 2023-24. He’ll have to prove himself before getting a massive contract again.
