Phil Jackson has found his man. Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck is reporting that the New York Knicks have hired Jeff Hornacek to be their next head coach.

Hornacek previously coached the Phoenix Suns for just short of three seasons, amassing a 101-112 record.
While his first two seasons in the desert yielded no playoff appearances, Hornacek’s Suns did post a solid 87-77 record. They peaked in his first year with a 48-34 mark. He was fired 49 games into the 2015-16 season after compiling a 14-35 record.
He will take over a Knicks job that has become one of the worst in the league. New York has not made the playoffs since the 2012-13 season. In the three seasons since, the Knicks have posted an ugly 86-160 record.
Under Derek Fisher and Kurt Rambis, New York was 32-50 last season. They also don’t have a first-round pick in June’s draft.
Still, with players like Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, Hornacek does inherit a job with some decent building blocks.
