“The Dual NBA Logo Autographed Patches collectibles are one of the most coveted insert sets from the iconic Upper Deck Exquisite Collection productions,” Goldin noted. “Bryant’s presence alone on this card makes it a true treasure of basketball collecting, and when paired with the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in James, makes this one of the most significant cards of the 21st century.”
It’s the first time this card went up for auction.
Bryant’s most expensive card — his 1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Gems Emerald, graded BGS 8.5 — sold for $2 million in February 2022, while the highest price ever paid for a James card is $5.2 million for his 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Rookie Patch Autograph /23, graded BGS 9.
