The Stein Line’s NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that an “emerging option” for the two clubs is the Pistons trading for Kings guard Malik Monk, which could mean a sign-and-trade scenario involving Dennis Schroder.

A sign-and-trade for Schroder could also help the Kings afford to sign either veteran guard Russell Westbrook or Malcolm Brogdon in NBA free agency. Sacramento would have its starter and a viable backup for next season, addressing a position that it was extremely thin at after the De’Aaron Fox trade in February.
