Restricted free agent goaltender Juuse Saros avoided arbitration Monday by signing a four-year, $20 million contract with the Nashville Predators.

Saros was scheduled for an arbitration hearing on Wednesday.

With Pekka Rinne announcing his retirement this offseason, the 26-year-old Saros is expected to battle David Rittich for playing time in the Music City in 2021-22.

Saros posted a 21-11-1 record with three shutouts, a 2.28 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in 36 appearances (35 starts) last season. He started all six of the Predators’ playoff games in the first round against the Carolina Hurricanes, recording a 2.78 GAA and .921 save percentage.

Saros has a 76-47-17 record with 14 shutouts, a 2.50 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in 155 career appearances (139 starts) since being selected by Nashville in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft.
