Mutineers, Rokkr get wins at CDL Major II qualifying

The Florida Mutineers and Minnesota Rokkr earned wins Saturday in qualifying for Major II.

The Atlanta FaZe and New York Subliners also earned wins Saturday.

Major II, which will include all 12 Call of Duty League teams, is scheduled to be played in Boston from Feb. 2-5. Qualifying for the event continues through Jan. 29.

The Mutineers defeated the Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-2. The Guerrillas opened with a 250-166 win on Hardpoint Embassy before Florida rebounded with a 6-5 win on El Asilo Search and Destroy. The Mutineers took Control Al Asilo 3-2 but L.A. knotted the match with a 250-240 win on Hardpoint Mercado Las Almas. The Mutineers clinched with a 6-1 win on Al Bagra Fortress Search and Destroy.

The Rokkr needed a reverse sweep to get past the London Royal Ravens. London took the first two maps, 250-244 on Al Bagra Fortress Hardpoint and 6-4 on Mercado Las Almas Search and Destroy. But Rokkr regrouped, winning 3-2 on Al Bagra Fortress Control, 250-131 on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint and 6-4 on Al Bagra Fortress Search and Destroy.

The Subliners defeated the Los Angeles Thieves 3-1. The Thieves opened with a 250-184 win on Al Bagra Fortress Hardpoint. But it was all Subliners from there. They took El Asilo Search and Destroy 6-5, Al Bagra Fortress Control 3-2 and Embassy Hardpoint 250-219.

The FaZe swept the Seattle Surge, opening with a 250-187 win on Embassy Hardpoint. They then won 6-2 on Mercado Las Almas Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Breenbergh Hotel Control.
