Movistar Riders has been docked three points and G2 Esports was given a warning Thursday for unauthorized communications during VRL Spain: Rising.

In issuing its ruling, Riot Games said that Movistar coach Lucas “LRojo” Rojo provided “written tactical instructions” to his players while their match against RIX.GG was in progress. Communications are prohibited outside of the tactical pause periods.

The three-point deduction is equal to a one-match loss.

“We respect the sanction imposed by Riot and apologize for what happened,” Movistar Riders said in a tweet.

G2 was just issued a warning since Riot found that coach Daniil “pipsoN” Meshcheryakov’s transgression against Team Vitality in the EMEA VCT closed qualifier was an “isolated instance for celebratory purposes, not resulting in competitive advantage.”

“I got over excited and unmuted to react to a sick clutch — which violated Riot’s rules on comms outside of pauses,” pipsoN posted to Twitter. “I’d like to clarify that this was unintentional and won’t happen again in the future.”
