More details emerge on Kyler Murray’s awful combine interviews

We’ve heard that Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray struggled with interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine. But reportedly, it was more than just a struggle.

Charley Casserly, the NFL Network analyst and former NFL GM, recited the reports he heard about Murray. They don’t put the reigning Heisman winner in an especially flattering light.

That’s pretty scathing, if accurate.

Now, there is some good news for Murray. One is that it was reported on Tuesday that the Arizona Cardinals have reportedly confirmed that they are indeed looking to deal Josh Rosen.

If accurate, that points to them drafting a quarterback No. 1 overall and Murray has long been a reported target. The second bit of good news for Murray is that Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden reportedly likes him. So, even if Arizona falls through, there is another interested team picking high in the draft.

So, all hope is not lost. But even with that understood, these reports are not good. NFL teams have to be willing to take on a player with some flaws.

But these specific flaws are usually the last places where NFL teams like seeing players — especially quarterbacks — struggle.
