Years later, Rebecca Loos is still claiming she had an affair with soccer legend David Beckham.
Beckham’s former assistant appeared on “60 Minutes Australia” recently, once again claiming that the two had an affair 20 years ago.
The 49-year-old British soccer star has been married to his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, since 1999.
““In my opinion, it was a very brave thing to do to go up against them,” Loos, 47, said. “I have stuck to the truth. I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing. Why? Because I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media who have all the money in the world for the best PR, the best lawyers.”
“And all I had on my side was the truth,” she added.
Loos first made claims about the affair in April 2004, stating she and Beckham engaged in a four-month relationship while he was married to Victoria, 50, with whom he now shares four children.
When asked why she spoke up about the affair, Loos said: “I always had the opinion of it’s better that it comes from me and that I have some sort of control. And also by doing that, it was a way of me sort of… not getting back at him, but sort of… yeah.”
“I kind of felt the way he treated me was very unfair — what he was getting away with. That two-faced life,” she continued. “I felt that I know how much his image means to him. I just kind of wanted to make him feel some pain too. It sounds very vindictive to say, but when you’re 26 years old, it’s how you react to heartache and pain.”
For his part, Beckham has always denied the affair, most recently doing so on his Netflix docuseries.
Beckham currently owns part of the MLS soccer club Inter Miami.
