MLB star Starling Marte announces his wife has died of a heart attack

Noelia Marte, the wife of Arizona Diamondbacks star Starling Marte, has passed away due to a heart attack. Marte announced the stunning news Monday night on social media.

Marte wrote, “I go through the pain of making public the unfortunate death of my wife Noelia, due to a heart attack. It is a moment of great sorrow.”

Jon Heyman of MLB Network shared that Noelia Marte had been in the hospital awaiting surgery on a broken ankle when she suddenly passed.

Starling Marte’s wife died unexpectedly today. She broke her ankle and was in the hospital and said to be awaiting surgery when she passed. Best wishes to Starling, who just announced the death.
