The Minnesota Twins selected the contract of Griffin Jax from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday and designated fellow right-hander Juan Minaya for release or assignment.

Jax, who has no major league experience, was 3-1 with a 3.33 ERA in five starts for St. Paul. A third-round draft pick in 2016, the 26-year old is poised to become the first graduate of the Air Force Academy to appear in a game for the Twins.

Minaya, 30, had a 4.26 ERA in four appearances for the Twins this season. He has a career 6-4 record with a 3.94 ERA in 129 appearances with the Chicago White Sox (2016-19) and Twins.
