Mike Gillislee reportedly signing one-year deal with Saints

Mike Gillislee is landing on his feet a day after being released by the New England Patriots, as he’s reportedly signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.

Gillislee was thought of highly enough by New England that he landed a pretty sweet deal last year as a restricted free agent. However, he wasn’t utilized a lot during the 2017 season, going for 398 yards and five touchdowns on just 105 touches.

The previous season, playing for the Buffalo Bills, Gillislee averaged an outstanding 5.7 yards per carry while totaling 627 yards and nine touchdowns.

Chances are, if any team can get the most out of him it’s the Saints, who need a bit of extra firepower to open the season anyway with Mark Ingram out on suspension the first four games.
