Miami Heat guard Victor Oladipo will miss the remainder of the season after deciding on a second surgery on his right quadriceps tendon in two years.

The procedure is scheduled for Thursday in New York, with no timetable for his return.

Oladipo, 29, originally ruptured his quad tendon in January of 2019 as a member of the Indiana Pacers. After just over a year of rehab, he returned in late January of 2020 and played the final 19 games of the season.

The two-time All-Star has played for three teams this season after he was traded from the Pacers to the Houston Rockets in January, then moved from the Rockets to the Heat in late March.

Oladipo averaged 19.8 points in 33 total games this season, and 12.0 points with 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in four games with the Heat. His latest quad tendon injury, in the area of his right knee, occurred during an April 8 game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

In eight NBA seasons with the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Pacers, Rockets and Heat, Oladipo has averaged 17.5 points with 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 454 games (394 starts).
